![]() In letters sent to Congress last week, HCAOA offered strong support for reintroduction of the Homecare for Seniors Act. The bill will enable home care services to qualify as a medical expense when used in conjunction with individuals' Health Savings Accounts. This legislation will allow working family caregivers to receive the support they need to keep a family member out of institutionalized care for as long as possible. ![]() HCAOA is proud to sponsor the National Healthcare at Home 2021 Best Practices and Future Insights Study. HCAOA Partners with ATI Advisory to Position Members to Contract with Medicare Advantage Plans4/21/2021 ![]() HCAOA is pleased to announce a new partnership with ATI Advisory to offer members state-specific data on the Medicare Advantage landscape to pinpoint which plans are offering home care as a benefit, and how they can get connected. Last week, during a Conference Committee session, agreement was reached that the Senate would recede and withdraw its amendment to the Essential Worker Protection Act (EWPA) bill passed by the House. The final bill simply requires a special leave provision for essential workers in a public health emergency, but that requirement to provide additional leave “applies only if the Federal or State government provides funding that can be used for public health emergency leave.” ![]() HCAOA is proud to have recently partnered with Hero, the at-home medication management platform that empowers individuals to stay adherent and independent. ![]() HCAOA’s Veterans Affairs Advisory Council has been working diligently for the past several months to address and resolve many challenges home care agencies face in working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. One of the recent victories for the Council is an offer by leading officials at the VA to request Optum and TriWest to resolve applications that are mired in the contractor credentialing processes.
