Georgia: Updated Rule for Fingerprint Criminal Background Checks from Department of Community Health12/7/2022 Effective November 21, 2022, the Georgia Department of Community Health is modifying the previous variance which became effective October 1, 2020. The updated rule variance applies to Chapter 111-8-12.05(1)(e) and is issued under the authority of the February 18, 2021, Executive Order issued by Governor Kemp and subsequent applicable Executive Orders.

2023 In-Home Services Day is being planned for February 1, 2023. According to the Administration for Community Living’s (ACL) Profile of Older Americans, people age 65+ represented 17% of the population in 2020 and that is expected to grow to 22% by 2040. The states with the highest percentage of populations age 65+ in 2020 were Maine, Florida, West Virginia, and Vermont.

According to ACL, principal sources of data are the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Center for Health Statistics, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Effective January 1, 2023, California SB 1162 will impose new requirements on companies with employees in the state, according to HCAOA partner Littler. SB 1162 builds on current pay reporting requirements for large employers by imposing mean and median pay reporting mandates.
